Wandsworth, SW12 – Rear Extension, Side Infill & Ground Floor Refurbishment

Adam Renovations completed a substantial residential refurbishment and extension project in Wandsworth, SW12, transforming the ground floor of the property through a new rear extension, side infill extension and comprehensive internal reconfiguration.

The project was designed to create a larger, brighter and more functional open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, improving both the layout and the connection between the house and rear garden. The works involved significant structural alterations to the existing property, including the formation of new openings, structural steelwork and the careful integration of the new extension with the original building.

Our scope included the associated groundworks, foundations, drainage coordination, structural works, external construction and complete internal refurbishment of the affected areas. The finished space incorporated a new kitchen and dining area, upgraded finishes and extensive glazing, allowing significantly more natural light into the property and creating a strong visual connection with the landscaped garden.

A particularly important part of the project was the pre-construction phase. The programme required a relatively short mobilisation period, meaning a substantial amount of technical coordination, procurement and construction planning had to be completed before work commenced on site. Design queries and buildability issues were resolved in advance wherever possible, allowing the construction programme to proceed efficiently once the project started.

Careful sequencing was also required throughout the structural and extension works to ensure the existing property remained properly supported while the new layout was formed and the rear and side additions were incorporated.
