Hackney, N16 – Rear Extension & Full Internal Refurbishment

Adam Renovations completed a substantial residential refurbishment and rear extension project in Hackney, N16, combining structural alterations, new construction and a comprehensive internal reconfiguration of the existing property.

The works began with strip-out and demolition of existing internal walls, followed by the structural and substructure works required for the new ground-floor rear extension. Salvaged brickwork from the original building was carefully reused to form new structural piers, helping the extension retain a strong connection with the character and materials of the existing property.

The construction programme included foundations, drainage, new external walls, roof construction, windows and doors, together with the associated structural works required to integrate the extension successfully with the original house.

Internally, the property was extensively reconfigured with new partitions, upgraded finishes, decoration and coordinated mechanical and electrical services. The works created a more open and functional ground-floor layout, with the new extension increasing usable living space and improving the relationship between the interior and rear garden.

The project also included new external paving and associated finishing works, completing the transformation of the rear of the property and creating a cohesive transition between the new living space and external areas.
