Islington, EC1 – Mixed-Use Refurbishment & Mansard Roof Extension

Adam Renovations completed a comprehensive refurbishment and redevelopment project in Islington, EC1, close to Exmouth Market and Rosebery Avenue. The scheme transformed an existing terraced property into a carefully integrated mixed-use building combining a ground-floor restaurant with high-quality residential accommodation above.

At ground-floor level, the works centred on creating a functional restaurant space with an open kitchen and communal dining areas. The refurbishment required careful coordination of the internal layout, building services, finishes and specialist kitchen requirements within the constraints of the existing property.

The upper floors were extensively reconfigured to create modern residential accommodation, including open-plan living areas and a principal bedroom suite. Internal alterations, new services and upgraded finishes were coordinated throughout to improve the functionality and quality of the existing spaces.

A traditional mansard roof extension formed an important part of the project, increasing the usable floor area while remaining sympathetic to the character and proportions of the original London terrace. The roof works required careful integration with the existing structure and internal accommodation below.

The completed project delivered a significantly improved mixed-use property in central London, combining commercial and residential uses within a single coordinated refurbishment.
